Part 1
Chris: Are you free tonight?
You’re in your dorm late on a Saturday afternoon when your phone rings.
Chris: Hi, Danny. It’s Chris.
Danny: Hey, Chris! What’s up?
Chris: So listen, we’ve run into each other a couple times now... and I want to get to know you better. Would you be interested in going out sometime?
Danny: I’m definitely interested.
Chris: Good. Then would you be free tonight?
Danny: Tonight?! You move fast.
Chris: Sometimes you have to live in the moment. And this moment starts with a car that’s waiting outside for you right now, ready to take you to the airport.
Danny: The airport?
Chris: Vegas is calling, Danny. Are you in?
Chris’s private car takes you to an airfield where a sleek, silver jet sits on a runway. Chris waits next to the jet in a polished suit, a bouquet of roses in hand.
Chris: Danny, I’m glad you came. You look stunning.
Danny: Thank you. You don’t look so bad yourself.
Chris: Ready to go?
He takes your hand, leading you into the jet. Inside, you and Chris settle into comfortable seats of white leather. He puts and arm around you.
Danny: So do you take all your dates to Vegas?
Chris: I’m not a player, Danny. I wanted to take you somewhere that would suit your personality.
Danny: My personality is like Vegas? So you think I’m exciting and romantic?
Chris: That’s exactly it. I’d also add bright, attractive, and full of adventure...
Danny: Aww...
Chris: That’s why I asked you out. I guess you’ve got your hooks in me, Danny. I can’t wait to show you the night I’ve planned.
Danny: I can’t wait to see it. Vegas, here we come!
Rewards
Danny: Oh look, Chris, the sun is setting...
You lean into him as the golden light of sunset spills softly through the windows.
Danny: It’s so beautiful up here. Do you fly a lot?
Chris: For work, yeah. I don’t have time to take the jet out for fun unless it’s for a good cause.
Danny: Am I a good cause?
Chris: You’re the best cause.
Danny: I don’t know if I could ever het used to this kind of life... just taking a private jet out for a spin...
Chris: It’s growing on me. But back when I was first starting out, I couldn’t have imagined anything like this. To tell you the truth, I’m just a simple country guy at heart.
Danny: Really?
Chris: It’s the truth! That’s one of the reasons why I jumped at the chance to make The Last Lumberjack. I actually got to fly out to Oregon for some of the filming. While we were filming, I camped out on site for a week and slept in a tent! I love the glitz of Hollywood, but sometimes I have to get away.
Danny: I never would’ve guessed...
Chris: I’m full of surprises. Like tonight. Bet you’ll never guess what I’ve got in store...
Later... out the window, you spot the glittering lights of the Las Vegas strip!
Chris: Are you ready for our date to really get started?
Part 2
Chris: Ready to be amazed?
After Chris’s private jet lands in Vegas, a town car takes you from the airport to the Strip, and you are dropped off at the luxury hotel, Glamour. Inside, you’re greeted by the dazzling lights of the slot machines on the glittering casino floor.
Chris: Welcome to Vegas! This is the newest hotel on the Strip.
Danny: The vibe here is incredible. I love the gold and glass... and the chandeliers are wonderful!
You and Chris stare up at them, the light catching the pearl wings of the Murano glass butterflies.
Danny: So, what are we doing first?
Chris: First, I’ve got front-row tickets to Lumiere, an aerial ballet and light show.
Danny: That sounds amazing!
Chris: Right this way...
His hand at the small of your back, Chris guides you into the softly lit auditorium and ushers you to the front row for your seats.
Danny: I can’t believe how close we are to the stage! I can practically reach out and touch it!
Chris: Hey, I’ve got to show you a good time tonight, right?
The lights dim...
Time - 1 hour
The lights dim in the theater. As a soft violin plays, dancers in bright and splendid costumes glide and pirouette across the stage...
Danny: They’re so graceful...
Next, aerial silk performers descend from the ceiling dancing on long strands of ribbons. They twirl in the air, the gems on their costumes catching the light like myriad diamonds!
Danny: Wow!
For the next part of the act, four acrobats run and tumble across a tightrope suspended thirty feet in the air!
Danny: So cool!
Chris: I’m amazed they can do tricks like that without falling...
Danny: This from the guy who jumped from one falling tree to another. Didn’t you do all your own stunts for ‘The Last Lumberjack’?
Chris: That was different. I had ropes. And coaches. And protective gear.
Danny: So you’re saying you’re not as brave as a circus performer?
Chris: Sadly, no.
Danny: Too bad. I like my men acrobatic... but I suppose I can just settle for a movie star instead...
Chris wraps an arm around you, smiling.
Chris: Lucky me.
Later in the performance... one of the acrobats does a flip and lands directly in front of you! He offers you his hand...
Danny: Oh!
Chris: This is your chance to get in on the act!
Danny: I’ll go with you, acrobat.
The lead acrobat pulls you up on stage and stands you in the center while three other acrobats leap over your head! Then the leader tosses you in the air and catches you!
Danny: Whoa!
At the end, the audience cheers, and the acrobat leads you back to your seat.
Danny: That. Was. Amazing.
Chris: I had a feeling you’d enjoy being part of the show.
Danny: You planned that?
Chris: Hey, I knew I had to do something big to impress you.
Danny: It’s working.
Rewards
After the show ends, people in the audience rush up to Chris and ask him for autographs.
Chris: Sorry, folks. I have to go. I’m trying to keep a low profile tonight. Thanks for understanding.
He signs a few before the two of you duck away and head into the lobby of Glamour.
Chris: So... what did you think of the show?
Danny: It was gorgeous. The acts were absolutely stunning. What did you think?
Chris: It was beautiful... but to be honest, I thought you were the most breathtaking thing in the room...
Danny: You charmer... now, what’s next?
Chris: I was thinking we could hit the casino floor and test our luck.
Danny: I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling pretty lucky tonight.
Chris: I’ll be sure to keep you close then. This way.
His arm around you, Chris leads you through a glittering archway into the sumptuously decorated high-rollers room...
Part 3
Chris: Which casino game do you want to play first?
In the high-rollers room, you and Chris walk up to a roulette wheel, You watch for a few minutes and see red come up three times in a row.
Chris: Looks like red’s on a streak. Ready to get in the game? You pick what I bet on... red or black?
Danny: Black.
Chris puts a stack of chips down on black. The ball spins and whirls on the wheel... and lands on 33 black!
Danny: YES! I was right! I’m psychic!
Chris: Nicely done! Looks like you’re already a master at roulette.
Danny: Heh.
In the high-rollers room, you and Chris walk over to a craps table. Chris puts down a bet and turns to you.
Chris: Here, take some of my chips. How much do you want to bet?
Danny: Bet small.
You put down a few of your chips to bet as the dealer pushes a pair of dice over to you to roll.
Danny: Time to see how lucky I really am!
You throw the dice and hit a seven. Everyone at the table nod happily.
Chris: Do it again, Danny!
You throw the dice for a few minutes, your chips stacking up!
Danny: I’m on a roll!
Eventually...
Danny: So what number am I trying to hit this time?
Chris: I’ve got two hundred on you rolling a six, so let’s see it!
You roll a seven and crap out. The dealers start clearing the board of bets.
Chris: Good run, Danny!
Danny: Yeah! I’m a winner!
One of the dealers pushes the dice to Chris. He picks them up and starts rolling. After some time...
Chris: All right, Danny, this is it. I’m putting every chip I’ve got on the hard eight... blow on my dice for luck?
You blow on the dice. Chris sends them down the table. The dice roll, tumbling until they stop and show two fours!
Danny: THE HARD EIGHT!
The craps dealers hand over your winnings as Chris throws his arms around you to the hoots and hollers of the table!
Chris: You’re amazing!
You and Chris walk into the lobby of Glamour.
Danny: That was exhilarating! I can’t believe how good you are at craps.
Chris: I don’t think skill has much to do with it. I’m pretty sure you’re good luck.
Danny: Maybe I should hang around you more often.
Chris: I wouldn’t complain.
Rewards
Chris: And now, can you guess what I have planned next?
Danny: Dinner and drinks?
Chris: We’ve got a reservation at the hottest club on the Las Vegas strip. Right this way!
Part 4
Chris: I know just the place for dinner and drinks...
For dinner, Chris ushers you into Top of the World, a luxurious dining room that overlooks the Strip. He pulls your chair out for you.
Danny: Thank you. What a gentleman.
A waiter comes around and asks you for your drink order.
Danny: Tea.
Chris: This restaurant is known for their rare blends of loose-leaf tea. I’ll have the Gyokuro tea.
The waiter leaves and returns with two cups of piping hot tea.
Danny: Mmm! This tea is perfect.
Chris looks out at the Las Vegas Strip.
Chris: You know, this is all so surreal sometimes. It’s hard to imagine that I could come from nowhere, Missouri and end up here, at the Top of the World in Las Vegas.
Danny: Missouri? Is that where you grew up?
Chris: Yep. On a farm, actually.
Danny: Really? No way! But you seem so at home in Hollywood...
Chris: It was not an easy adjustment, believe me.
Danny: Tell me about it...
Time - 4 hours
Over a fine dinner, you and Chris talk about your lives before Hollywood...
Danny: So you grew up on a farm in Missouri... how did you decide to become an actor?
Chris: I always knew I wanted to be one. I loved movies growing up. The farm I lived on is far away from the city. And by ‘city’ I mean a town with four stoplights and a movie theater. My older brother would borrow my dad’s beat-up truck, and we’d drive two hours to the movie theater. We’d just spend the whole day at the theater, watching movie, one after another. Horror movies, comedies, documentaries... my favorite were the action movies.
Danny: Well, after your recent run of films, I could kind of guess...
Chris: Those movies really inspired me. Things... weren’t always great, growing up. In action movies, there’s always a hero who needs to be brave. I guess those movies inspired me to find the courage I needed when things were tough. That’s how I got the idea to become an actor. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to make movies that would make other people feel brave. So I just picked up and moved to Hollywood.
Danny: That’s crazy that you could move so far away, just to take that risk...
Chris: It’s what I really wanted. Besides, you kind of did the same thing, heading to Hollywood U, right?
Danny: Well, I--
Just then, the waiter comes with the check. As Chris pays, the waiter asks for his autograph.
Chris: Sure, but after that, we’ve really got to go...
Other people in the restaurant start to close in.
Chris: Sorry, everyone... got to run! On a date!

Outside, the two of you stroll down the Strip, hand-in-hand. The lights of Vegas sparkle around you, and after rounding a corner, you see the fountains of the Bellagio spark to life!
Chris: Stay and watch?
Danny: Yes, please!

Suddenly, you hear an excited scream, and a group of sorority girls run to you! They mob Chris, separating you as they ask for autographs.
Chris: Er, well... I’m flattered I have so many enthusiastic fans. I really appreciate your support, but I’m kind of in the middle of a date...
A camera flashes behind you! Then another! The area is suddenly swarming with paparazzi!
Part 5
Chris: Is this where our night ends?
Chris: Hey, can’t a guy get some privacy?
Danny: Come on, Chris! Getting angry at them will only make it worse! Let’s get out of here!
You take Chris by the hand and run, zig-zagging through the crowded Vegas sidewalk! The paparazzi give chase, snapping shots behind you!
Chris: They’re not going to stop! We need to slow them down somehow!
Danny: I’ve got an idea! We use the crowd to create a blockade!
Chris: How?
Danny: By giving them the one thing every Vegas-goer wants... money!
Without a moment’s hesitation, you pull the handle on a nearby slot machine! The slot machine spins...
Chris: I don’t understand. How is this going to create a blockade?
Danny: First, we win tons of coins! Then we shower the sidewalk with them, creating a frenzy!
Chris: You mean, like in the movies?
The slot machine whirs to a stop, the display showing two ducks and a goose.
Danny: I guess that was an unrealistic plan...
Suddenly someone in the crowd recognizes Chris! More people start to gather. Soon the growing crowd has completely blocked out the paparazzi!
Chris: I’m assuming our plan for privacy didn’t involve alerting more people, did it?
Danny: I admit I was overly optimistic about Operation Slot Machine. Now come on!
You and Chris eventually outrun the crowd... Unfortunately, one photographer manages to catch up... he begins snapping photos of Chris!
Chris: What do we do about this guy?
Danny: We just need a little bit more time!
You call out to the photographer...
Danny: Ohmygosh! Who is that across the street? Is that Jennifer Lawrence!
The photographer turns his attention from you, just long enough for you to bolt around the corner!
Chris: Quick-thinking, Danny!
Danny: I know my stars!
Chris: We need to hide somewhere fast, before that photographer finds us again!
Danny: Quick! Into that...
You freeze!
Chris: I know, the dive bar! Quick!
You and Chris pull up a pair of stools at a dive bar.
Chris: No one asking for autographs, no paparazzi... After all that, we finally have some time to ourselves...
Rewards
Danny: So... not that we’re finally fan, celebrity, and paparazzi-free, what do you want to talk about?
Chris: The only thing worth talking about... us.
Danny: I’ll buy a round for that.
Chris: And I’ll buy all the ones after that.
Part 8
Danny: The first round’s on me!
You and Chris talk over your drinks...
Chris: My favorite role ever? Probably when I got to play ‘Mr. Super’.
Danny: That’s too easy an answer. I mean who wouldn’t love playing someone invincible?
Chris: Well, that’s not all of it. Mr. Super came from the Midwest, just like me. And even though the people of New City know what Mr. Super’s all about, very few ever understand his alter ego, Taylor Dunn. And Taylor has all kinds of insecurities about being a normal person. It’s his vulnerability that really spoke to me...
Danny: Do you sometimes feel like that? Like you have insecurities about being normal?
Chris: Usually, yeah, I do. I mean, to be honesty, on most dates I go on, things feel fake. Like both of us are just...
Danny: ...acting?
Chris: Exactly. But I don’t feel that with you, Danny. I feel genuine. I feel like Mr. Super and Taylor Dunn, all at once.
He leans across the table...
Danny: Chris...
...and kisses you gently, for a long time...

When you pull away at last, Chris smiles at you.
Chris: I liked that.
Danny: Me too.
Chris: So I was thinking about where we should go next time...
Danny: Oh, there’s going to be a next time?
Chris blushes.
Chris: I hope so. I like traveling with you. We could go anywhere... Paris... Tuscany...
Danny: I could definitely get used to that...
Chris: Well, let’s start with home first. Come on... we’ve got a jet to catch.
Danny: What’s the in-flight entertainment? One of your movies?
Chris: It could be that. It could also be just the two of us making out till we land.
Danny: That sounds... super.

Danny: Quick! Into that...
You freeze!
Chris: I know, the dive bar! Quick!
You and Chris pull up a pair of stools at a dive bar.
Chris: No one asking for autographs, no paparazzi... After all that, we finally have some time to ourselves...

Danny: That sounds... super.
