Part 1
Alexandra: We’re going to Rodeo Drive! Make sure your style’s on point!
The next day, you meet up with the rest of your Hollywood 101 class at a cafe on Rodeo Drive.
Danny: Does anyone know why Professor Hunt asked us to meet him here?
Alexandra: Look around you! We’re on Rodeo Drive! I’m not saying we’re definitely going on a shopping spree... But I’m not saying we’re not!
Thomas Hunt: Ahem. I see you’ve all found Rodeo Drive easily enough.
You all jump as Professor Hunt pulls up a chair at your table.
Thomas Hunt: The next unit of this class will cover fashion. It’s clear that a lot of you could use some help in this area. Love it or hate it, image is everything in Hollywood. To help you stay on trend, I’ll be assigning you a series of fashion challenges, culminating in a final project judged by my friend Marianne. Marianne Delacroix.
Alexandra: No. Way.
Danny: Marianne Delacroix? Isn’t that--
Alexandra: The editor-in-chief of Faux Pas magazine! I’m freaking out! Marianne Delacroix is my idol! I can honestly say that Faux Pas Magazine is the reason I’m here!
Professor Hunt raises a hand to quiet the class.
Thomas Hunt: The first assignment will start in just a few moments, but first, everyone partner up.
Alexandra turns to you.
Alexandra: Hey, want to join Team Alexandra?
Danny: Are you sure? I’m not much of a fashionista...
Alexandra: Really? Well, it’s clear by your outfit that you have impeccable taste, and that’s what fashion is all about!
Rewards
Once everyone in the class has been sorted into pairs, Professor Hunt outlines the first challenge.
Thomas Hunt: As Alexandra guessed earlier, you will get to go shopping during class today--
Alexandra: Woo! Dream come true! Ahem... sorry.
Thomas Hunt: Perfectly understandable. However, this is still an assignment... not an opportunity to goof off during class hours. Your mission is to take your allotted cash to these designer stores and put together... A ‘90s throwback ensemble.
Alexandra: Am I dreaming? Because I feel like I have to be dreaming! Come on, Danny, let’s go!
Part 2
Alexandra: Ready for a shopping trip down memory lane?
You and Alexandra speed-walk down Rodeo Drive.
Alexandra: Hmm... what we need is a designer whose work skews more toward streetwear. Most of these luxurious boutiques are too classy to have ‘90s throwback pieces...
Alexandra stops you outside a shop called Parmesan.
Danny: Parmesan? That’s kind of a weird name for a store...
Alexandra: Trust me, this is just what we want. Parmesan is sort of anti-fashion. They’d definitely have some old, hopelessly out-of-style looks.
Danny: But aren’t we trying to make something that looks, you know, good?
Alexandra: It’s ‘90s throwback, Danny. Nobody looked good in the ‘90s. Actually, is this is practice for Delacroix’s assignment, it’s a weird choice. Delacroix can’t stand fads like ‘90s nostalgia.
You follow Alexandra into Parmesan. The racks are crowded with ripped overalls, neon jumpsuits, leopard-print sweatpants, and bedazzled bell-bottom jeans.
Danny: I think I’m going to be sick.
Alexandra: Better get used to it, Danny... all this stuff is poised to make a major comeback! Whether that’s a good thing or not is still unclear. One thing’s obvious though... our outfit absolutely must be grunge. That’s, like, the only halfway-decent ‘90s trend.
Danny: Hmm, something grunge... how about this for the top?
From a nearby rack, you grab a neon orange off-the-shoulder top!
Alexandra: Danny, are you serious with this? This is soooo ‘80s! Clearly you’re not a true ‘90s kid... here, something like this would work a lot better.
Alexandra pulls a dark green flannel off the rack.
Danny: Oops, guess I need to study up on ‘90s fashion...
Alexandra: Don’t worry about it, Danny. ‘90s throwback is almost totally played out at this point... but don’t tell Professor Hunt that! Anyway, now we just need some leg coverage... see anything that’d go with this flannel?
Danny: What about these? Faded, pre-torn jeans!
Alexandra: Yes! Perfect! Man, someone really went to town on these... the knees are completely shredded. Can you imagine getting paid to tear up someone’s jeans for them? That might be my dream job.
Danny: But you also have to make the jeans... so you’re basically making something just to destroy it!
Alexandra: Whoa! Who knew fashion could get so... philosophical?
Danny: Ooh, hold on, I think I just found some shoes that’d go great with those!
You reach for scuffed-up high top sneakers!
Alexandra: Ballin’! I can just imagine some angsty ‘90s teen stomping up and down suburbia
Danny: Right? I think these’ll read really well with the flannel and jeans.
Alexandra: I think we have everything we need! Let’s go present our ensemble to Professor Hunt!
Your classmates take turns showing your outfits to Professor Hunt. Soon, it’s time for you and Alexandra to present.
Alexandra: Danny and I were lucky enough to find all the ingredients for this super-grungy ensemble over at Parmesan.
Thomas Hunt: Well, it’s not the worst I’ve seen today... you’ve definitely got that ‘90s aesthetic. Lots of girls wore stuff like this back when I was in high school. I’d call this good enough, Alexandra.
Alexandra: Oh, it wasn’t just me... Danny helped a ton!
Thomas Hunt: I’m sure.
Rewards
Alexandra turns to you as Professor Hunt moves on to judge the next ensemble.
Alexandra: What was that about?
Danny: I don’t know... but I guess Professor Hunt isn’t my biggest fan.
Alexandra: Well, don’t worry about that. I’m sure he’ll come around... especially after we dominate this next challenge!
Thomas Hunt: All right, class. I’ll tell you about your next assignment back on campus. Meet me at the design lab in fifteen minutes.
Part 3
Alexandra: Ooh, I can’t wait to check out the design lab!
You step into the Hollywood U design lab with Alexandra.
Danny: Whoa.
Shelves upon shelves of fabrics reach all the way to the ceiling, and each of the long black worktables holds a state-of-the-art sewing machine.
Alexandra: Pretty cool, huh? When I was choosing between colleges, this room pretty much convinced me on sight.
Professor Hunt walks in and stands at the front of the room.
Thomas Hunt: Everyone take your seats. I know you’re eager to start experimenting with all of the materials in Hollywood U’s fabric collection, but you’ll have to earn that privilege. For your first challenge, the only material you’ll be allowed to work with...
Professor Hunt lifts and empty black garbage bag out of one of the design lab’s trash cans.
Thomas Hunt: ...is this!
Time - 5 minutes
A murmur runs through the class as Professor Hunt passes out the garbage bags you’ll be working with.
Danny: We have to make clothes out of a garbage bag?
Alexandra: This is so cool! I could totally see this being a challenge on Project Runway. Don’t worry, Danny... I’ve already come up with like thirty ideas.
Danny: How?
Alexandra: Um... I may have spent most of my childhood creating my own fashion lines out of garbage bags and duct tape... You know, just for fun... you’re looking at me like I’m crazy. I’m not crazy, am I? Okay, maybe I’m crazy.
Danny: I didn’t say anything.
Alexandra: Good, because that experiment, however weird, means I’m probably more experienced at working with garbage bags than anyone else in this room. So, what kind of piece do you think we should make?
Danny: Hmm... A bikini! If you can rock a garbage bag and still look good, you know you’re sexy.
Alexandra: Oh, you’re bad... I like it! I can’t wait to see the look on Hunt’s face when we show him!
You and Alexandra set to work, cutting and sewing until your garbage bag has been transformed into a very revealing bikini!
Alexandra: Ooh la la! Care to model it, Danny?
Danny: Ha ha, very funny.
Rewards
Thomas Hunt looks over each team’s project, making notes on a clipboard. He comes to your table and inspects your piece.
Thomas Hunt: Not as bad as I expected, Alexandra.
Alexandra: Oh, it wasn’t just me... it was Danny’s idea, actually, and we both worked on it.
Thomas Hunt: Hmm. I find that hard to believe...
Professor Hunt scribbles on his clipboard before returning to the front of the class.
Thomas Hunt: Before I present our final challenge, allow me to introduce a special guest... Marianne Delacroix.
Alexandra: She’s here? Right now?! I have to change my outfit! I’ll be right back!
Part 4
Alexandra: I have to look my best for Marianne Delacroix!
Marianne Delacroix walks in wearing a flattering coral dress and simple yet elegant heels. She waves politely to the class and kisses Professor Hunt on the cheek.
Danny: Wow. He actually has friends.
Alexandra: She’s... she’s really here! I think I’m going to cry!
Thomas Hunt: Thank you for coming, Marianne. As you can see, I’ve put my students to work turning my extra garbage bags into couture items...
Marianna Delacroix takes one look at the class’s projects and scowls.
Thomas Hunt: You always did hate gimmicky fashion, Marianne, but don’t worry... their next assignment will be just as you requested. And that final challenge... will be...
Professor Hunt starts a slideshow on the projector. The first image is of a Faux Pas photo shoot from the ‘80s in which tanned models with holden hair lounge on Mediterranean beaches in silky white gowns.
Thomas Hunt: Some of you may recognize this photo shoot from the pages of Faux Pas. This year, Marianne and her fellow editors at Faux Pas want to recreate this iconic shoot with new models and designers... I doubt any of you are worthy of this honor, but if you want you work in the pages of Faux Pas... now’s your chance.
Alexandra: OMG. OMG. OM-
Danny: Just breathe, Alexandra.
Alexandra: Sorry! I’ll try to keep calm.
Thomas Hunt: Miss Delacroix is looking for a ‘Grecian Goddess’ look, as is traditional for this shoot. You have until tomorrow to come up with a design, find your materials, and create the final piece. Starting... Now.
Rewards
The class erupts into a frenzy! You and Alexandra dash for the door!
Danny: Where are we going?
Alexandra: I don’t know, I’m following you!
Danny: Let’s go to the library! We’ll need to do some research before we start designing!
Alexandra: Sounds good... but we’ll also need some money for materials later!
Part 5
Alexandra: The library is free, but we’ll need to pay for our dress materials!
You and Alexandra hurry to the library. You walk through what feels like miles of shelves, past film textbooks, reams of classic screenplays, and artifacts from Hollywood’s golden age before coming to the magazine archive.
Danny: Here they are! All the past issues of Faux Pas dating back to... 1893?! What?
Alexandra: Yeah, it’s been around forever... Marianne Delacroix grew up reading Faux Pas just like I did. I’ve read almost all of her work, so I have a good sense of what she likes... that’s why I’m worried about this assignment. I’m a lot less confident faced with the task of designing a classy, elegant dress. It’s not really my style, you know?
Danny: Not all Greek goddesses are elegant and classy... some of them were drunken party animals! Maybe it would help if we looked at some art history books? There are a lot of paintings of Greek goddesses we could use as inspiration!
You and Alexandra grab some books from the art history section and head to the library’s study lounge.
Rewards
You and Alexandra leaf through art books filled with paintings of Greek goddesses.
Alexandra: Ooh, this is cool... have you heard of this princess named Atalanta?
Alexandra turns the book toward you to show an illustration of a young woman running on a track, dressed in a loose blue tunic.
Alexandra: Her father wanted her to marry, but Atalanta refused to marry any man who couldn’t beat her in a footrace.
Danny: Nice! I like this girl!
Alexandra: Yeah, she’s awesome! I’d love to do a look inspired by her with, like, sportswear influences and stuff...
Danny: That would be so cool! And totally on-trend!
Alexandra: It would... but it definitely wouldn’t make it into Faux Pas. Delacroix has always shunned trends that feel too much like brief fads to her. It’s probably better cater to her tastes. At least we’ll have a decent shot of winning, right?
Danny: Are you sure?
Alexandra: Yeah, I think it’s our best option... now let’s design a dress to impress Marianne Delacroix!
Part 6
Alexandra: Ready, set, design!
You find the design lab swarming with your classmates! You and Alexandra grab a table.
Alexandra: Oooookay, Grecian goddess... hopefully our classmates haven’t taken all the white, airy fabric... Because we’re gonna need about a mile of this stuff...
You and Alexandra search the design lab’s materials.
Alexandra: Whew! The other teams didn’t get all the white fabric. There’s just enough to make Delacroix’s ‘Grecian Goddess’ dress.
As the hour tick by, you and Alexandra get your dress to a nearly-finished state. The silhouette is regal and sophisticated, and the fabric drapes perfectly on your mannequin.
Danny: You know, this is actually looking really good... it looks just like the one in the photo shoot Hunt showed us!
Alexandra: Yeah... Delacroix will love it.
Rewards
Just then, you look around at all of your classmates’ workstations.
Danny: Um... Alexandra?
The design lab is filled with mannequins dressed in long, white gowns nearly identical to the one your team designed.
Alexandra: Oh no...
Part 7
Alexandra: What are we going to do, Danny?
Danny: There’s still time! We can make your Atalanta dress!
Alexandra: No, we can’t! I’d rather make a dress that looks just like everyone else’s than completely disappoint Marianne Delacroix...
Danny: I don’t believe you. It’s obvious that you’re not happy with the dress... and that’s the only thing you should be worried about!
Alexandra: But Marianne--
Danny: I know she’s you idol, but you need to find your own style! If you design for her, you’ll never get a chance to develop your artistic voice!
Alexandra: What if my ‘voice’ isn’t worth finding, though? I can’t just make whatever I want!
Danny: Sure you can! You got into Hollywood U on the strength of your own work... so be proud of it!
Alexandra looks at your team’s dress... and then at the rows of identical dresses in the design lab.
Alexandra: You’re right, Danny. Let’s do this.
Time - 20 minutes
As many of your classmates shove off for the night, you and Alexandra rush back to the fabrics collection and start pulling materials!
Danny: What do you think of this light blue jersey as the main material?
Alexandra: That color is just what I had in mind! Now, this might be totally crazy, but how do you feel about using this for the details?
Alexandra pulls a roll of undyed leather off the materials rack.
Danny: It’s definitely crazy... but if your instinct is to use it, go for it!
Alexandra: Do you think Delacroix will hate it? Tacky fashion shows have made her nauseous in the past! What if my dress literally makes her throw up? You know what? Who cares if she throws up? I’ll love this dress!
Danny: That’s the spirit! Although I really hope no one throws up... ew.
Rewards
Around five in the morning, you and Alexandra finally step back to admire your finished dress.
Alexandra: Well... it’s not what Marianne Delacroix is looking for...
Danny: But it looks amazing.
Alexandra: I guess there’s not much point in going to sleep now... we’re presenting in just a few hours!
Danny: Oh, shoot! We’d better find someone to model our dress then!
Part 8
Thomas Hunt: You should have finished your dress by now! Don’t disappoint me.
You and Alexandra rush Kelly backstage of Hollywood U’s huge theater, where dozens of models dressed in white gowns are waiting to go on.
Kelly: Where’s this dress? You know, I’ve always wanted to wear one of those white, flowy dresses... I mean I’ve been to plenty of toga parties, but somehow-- Wait. THIS is your dress? It’s, like, completely different from all the others!
Alexandra: Exactly! You’ll be the only one wearing something unique... use that!
Danny: See you on the runway!
Time - 40 minutes
From your seat in the audience, you and Alexandra have a good view of Professor Hunt and Marianna Delacroix. Marianne’s oversized sunglasses make her expression completely unreadable as your classmates’ models strut up and down the runway.
Alexandra: Some of these are pretty good!
Danny: Yeah... but a few teams clearly didn’t have any experienced fashionistas on hand...
Alexandra: Well, either way, I’m glad you convinced me to go with my Atalanta idea. I can’t believe I came so close to showing Delacroix something that was so not me.
Danny: She’s your idol. That’s a lot of pressure. Still. I’m really grateful, Danny. I mean it. Oh, look, here comes Kelly!
Kelly steps out onto the runway wearing a white dress identical to the dozens of models that have gone before... But then she lets it fall, revealing a second dress underneath! The crowd gasps!
Alexandra: Bet they didn’t see that coming!
The dress, fashioned from a blue jersey knit with a trim done in undyed leather, moves beautifully on the runway! The skirt flutters with each step, giving Kelly’s strut a sense of graceful athleticism!

Delacroix cocks an eyebrow, then turns to whisper in Professor Hunt’s ear.
Alexandra: Well, I was right... she hated it. Brace for vomit.
Danny: I’m sorry, Alexandra. But I’m proud of you. And I think the dress is gorgeous.
Alexandra: Thanks, Danny.
Part 9
Thomas Hunt: Miss Delacroix and I are ready to announce the winner!
As the show comes to an end, the models form a single line, and Professor Hunt joins them onstage.
Tomas Hunt: Thank you all for participating. Many of you are new to fashion, and it shows. You know who you are. However... many of you are decidedly not new to fashion, and you may think you had a real shot at winning the Faux Pas shoot. Unfortunately, there can be only one winner. These contestants were not my personal choice for the shoot, but Marianne was insistent. The winners are...
Time - 2 hours
The crowd holds its breath...
Thomas Hunt: ...the winners are Danny and Alexandra!
Alexandra: We did it! You were right, Danny!
Danny: You did it, Alexandra! We wouldn’t have won without your bold design choices! And my moral support, of course.
Rewards
A few weeks later, Alexandra runs up to you, clutching the latest issue of Faux Pas!
Alexandra: Danny, check this out! Recognize this dress?
Alexandra flips the magazine open to the Mediterranean photo shoot...
Danny: Hey, there’s our dress! And is that Cara Delevingne modeling it?
Alexandra: It is! But listen to what Delacroix said about the dress! ‘While I have in the past shunned the use of so-called sportswear fabrics and influences in couture, Alexandra and Danny changed my mind... a feat I had not considered possible up to this point. These are two designers to watch, and I have no doubt that their careers in fashion will be as daring, innovative, and refreshing as this piece promises.’
Danny: Whoa! That’s high praise!
Alexandra: Especially by her standards! I’m so glad we teamed up, Danny.
Danny: Me too, I-- Wait a second... are you wearing those sneakers from our ‘90s ensemble?
Alexandra: What? They’re totally making a comeback! Er... they are, right?
Danny: Who cares? As long as you like ‘em, right?
Alexandra: Right!
Alexandra: We’re going to Rodeo Drive! Make sure your style’s on point!
- Have Danny wearing an In Da Club Outfit
The next day, you meet up with the rest of your Hollywood 101 class at a cafe on Rodeo Drive.
Danny: Does anyone know why Professor Hunt asked us to meet him here?

Alexandra: It would... but it definitely wouldn’t make it into Faux Pas. Delacroix has always shunned trends that feel too much like brief fads to her. It’s probably better cater to her tastes. At least we’ll have a decent shot of winning, right?
Danny: Are you sure?
Alexandra: Yeah, I think it’s our best option... now let’s design a dress to impress Marianne Delacroix!
Part 6
Alexandra: Ready, set, design!
- Level Alexandra

- Danny
- Alexandra
Although I really hope no one throws up... ew.

- A Level 5+ Alexandra
- A Girl Besides Danny (Kelly)

- Danny
- Alexandra
