Part 1
Addison: It’s holiday break, Danny! Let’s celebrate!
It’s winter, and the university is officially on holiday break! In one of the dorm kitchenettes, you and Addison finish up baking cookies!
Addison: Yum! These look awesome! Thanks for helping out, Danny! My mom’s going to love these!
Danny: Oh yeah, your parents are coming out here to visit! When are they getting in?
Addison: Well... they were supposed to arrive this morning, but my mom had a last-minute doctor’s appointment. They had to push their flight back.
Danny: How is your mom doing these days.
Addison: She’s... pretty bad. This could be her last Christmas...
Danny: Oh Addison...
Addison: It’s all right, Danny. I promised her that her illness wouldn’t ruin the holiday for her, and I’m going to do my best to keep that promise! Once they get into town, we’re going to have the best Christmas ever!
Danny: Well, maybe while we’re waiting for them, we can hang out together?
Addison: Yes, of course. I had a lot of fun activities planned for my parents, but since they’re coming later, we can get started.
Danny: What are we doing?
Addison: Well, we’re going to see elite carolers, gawk at fancy light displays, decorate a tree and--
Your phone suddenly buzzes.
Danny: Whoa, it’s Lisa! I can’t imagine what she’d be calling about.
You answer the call and put it on speaker.
Danny: Hey, Lisa. It’s me and Addison. What’s up?
Lisa: O.M.G., you guys! I’m having a Christmas emergency! You’ve got to come over and get me!
Addison: Oh boy. We’re coming Lisa! Don’t worry!
Danny: I wonder what Lisa’s Christmas emergency is...
Addison: Well, if it were a real emergency, she knows she can call 9-1-1. Since she called us... She probably threw something off a roof she shouldn’t have...
Rewards
Addison: You ready to go? Danny: Just give me a second to get dressed, and we’re out of here!
Part 2
Danny: Let me get dressed, and then we’ll go rescue Lisa!
Dressed, you and Addison walk outside where a horse-drawn carriage adorned with festive wreaths and garlands awaits!
Danny: Looks like someone’s living it up tonight!
Addison: You’re looking at ‘someone’! The carriage is ours!
Danny: Really?
Addison: Just part of the perfect holiday planned by me! This carriage was going to take us to see the holiday sights around the city, but we can make a detour to pick up Lisa first!
You and Addison get in. The carriage takes you to the curb outside Lisa’s mansion, but the front gates don’t open. You call Lisa.
Lisa: You guys here? Come in!
Danny: We’d love to, but we’re kind of stuck at the gate.
Lisa: Oh yeah! That thing is closed 24-7. It’s practically paparazzi proof. I’ll open the gates. I just need to... uh... I’ve never done this before, and the house staff is out for the holiday. Just, uh... let me figure that out. Hang on
After several slow minutes, the gates to Lisa’s home swing open. The carriage drops you off at the front door, where Lisa is waiting.
Lisa: Thanks for coming over, you guys! I have no idea what to do with myself! The Lisa Mermaid crew is away touring, Aria’s in Tahiti with her family, and my mom ditched me for our penthouse suite in Cabo with her new guy!
Addison: Oh no!
Lisa: How can I possibly make it through the season with no penthouse suite, no five-star resort spa, and no personal room service?
Danny: You don’t need all that to have a good time, Lisa. In fact, none of those things are usually part of the traditional holiday festivities.
Addison: For me, this time of year is about carolers, lights, Christmas trees, and being with the people you care about! And Danny and I are celebrating the holidays right here in Hollywood. You should join us!
Lisa: Well, I’ve never really had what you’d call a ‘traditional’ Christmas, so... this could be interesting. I’m in!
Rewards
You pile into the carriage.
Lisa: So what’s the first stop on this totally normal Christmas?
Addison: Well, two of my friends are performing as Christmas carolers, and they scored me the best seats in the house for the show. I was hoping to take my parents, but their flight got delayed, so I just happen to have three tickets...
Lisa: So it’s like a concert?
Addison: Something like that. It’ll be fun! Come on! We just need to get the tickets from my friends!
Part 3
Addison: I’ve got tickets to the best seats in the concert hall!
Outside the theater, you meet up with Nyako and Peter.
Addison: Hey, guys!
Nyako: Hey, Addison! Here are your tickets! Best seats ever! Glad to see they’re going to someone who’ll appreciate them.
Peter: Enjoy the show!
Addison: Good luck up there! Let’s go inside.
You take your tickets to the doormen at the front of the theater.
Lisa: Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve entered a theater through the front door... is that what this is like?
At the door, cheery ushers dressed in red winter coats hand out bags of snacks and cups to everyone filing inside.
Lisa: What’s this?
Addison: They’re giving out special treats because it’s the holidays...
Lisa and Addison both take sips out of their hot cups.
Lisa: Mmmm, hot chocolate with marshmallows. Perfect.
You open your snack bag.
Danny: Peanut brittle, caramel popcorn, and peppermint sticks! Yum!
Addison: Come on! Let’s get our seats!
Inside, you grab seats in a small balcony just above the stage. The lights dim as carolers in bright colors file on stage.
Lisa: Here goes...
Time - 2 hours
The carolers sing several holiday songs, their cheery voices filling the hall with warmth and well wishes until at last...
Nyako: Join us in singing, ‘Jingle Bells’!
Peter: Dashing through the snow... in a one-horse open sleigh...
Addison: Laughing all the way... bells on bobtail ring... making spirits bright...
Danny: Oh, what fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight...
Addison: Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...
Lisa: Oh what fun it is to ride... in a one-horse open sleigh!
Lisa’s spectacular voice registers above the other singers. As the song carries on, people turn to stare at her. As the last note fades, whispers of ‘It’s Lisa Valentine!’ explode around you!
Addison: Looks like our cover’s blown...
Lisa: I know what to do.
Lisa stands up, and the spotlight swivels to her. She climbs onstage and grabs a free standing mike.
Lisa: Hello, Hollywood!
The quiet murmuring turns into loud applause.
Lisa: This show’s really about the holidays, so please enjoy my special Christmas song, Sexy Santa, before I turn it back over to these wonderful carolers... hit it! My perfect Christmas wish... is not the tree or the pile of gifts...
The band starts up to support Lisa’s song, and she dances around the stage as snow falls around her.
Lisa: It’s you that’s my true winter fantasy... it’s you, sexy Santa, see?
Danny: It’s like they rehearsed this.
Lisa: So I’ll be waiting for you, sleet or snow... underneath the mistletoe... Underneath the mistletoe!
The song closes out, and Lisa walks off stage to thunderous applause.
Rewards
After the show...
Danny: That was awesome!
Addison: And it was a very nice thing for you to do! Everyone’s going to be talking about the show...
Lisa: It was a lot of fun. You know, I could really get used to the idea of a down-home, normal Christmas.
Danny: Ha ha... yes... that was so normal.
At that moment, Addison’s phone beeps. She looks at the incoming text.
Danny: Did your parents’ flight arrive yet?
Addison: No... they’re still at the doctor’s, so they’ll have to take the next plan out. It’ll be another couple of hours.
Danny: Oh...
Addison: But it’s all right! Because... next up, we’re going to see the lights!
Lisa: The lights? Is that like a movie?
Addison: No, this is something that’s an important tradition with me and my family. We always walked around the neighborhood on Christmas Eve to check out everyone’s house lights. But since this is L.A., it’s going to be way more spectacular. And I’ve got the perfect person to take us on the tour!
Part 4
Addison: Let’s take a tour of the light displays around town!
The carriage takes you to Rodeo Drive where Ethan is waiting for you in front of a post store. He climbs into the carriage.
Ethan: Well, hello hello.
Danny: Ethan! Glad you could spare a moment for us!
Ethan: Of course. I always have time for my three favorite clients.
Lisa: I didn’t know that you were in town.
Ethan: It’s my busiest time of the year. You don’t get ahead by taking time off.
Addison: Well, I’m glad you could squeeze in some time for fun! Ethan is giving us a tour of the Hollywood manors. He knows where all the best decorations are!
Ethan: Let’s get started... we’ve got a lot of ground to cover...
Time - 4 hours
The carriage weaves through traffic and into the heart of the suburban manors of Beverly Hills.
Ethan: Down the street, you can see internationally famous fashion designer Jacob Bolano’s tasteful winter home...
Addison: Oooh, very pretty!
You glance at the stately Tudor house with bright white lights twinkling from its ornamental arches. A plush sleight with velvet blankets and animated reindeer stands majestically on the front lawn.
Lisa: It’s cool, but a little tame...
Ethan: Then you’ll really love this next one...
The carriage slows to a stop in front of a sprawling house lit up in a blaze of color. Lightbulbs blink on and off as if to an erratic, syncopated symphony.
Lisa: Whoa, check out the explosives!
Above the house, lights blink in the shape of stars then burst into brilliant sunburst patterns...
Lisa: Yeah!
Ethan: And last but not least...
The carriage takes you to a house lit up like a fairy tale gingerbread house with gumdrop window frames and sugar-frosted icicles on its eaves.
Danny: Awesome!
Rewards
The carriage takes you back down to Rodeo Drive to let Ethan out.
Addison: Thanks for the tour, Ethan!
Ethan: Happy to give it. And since it’s Christmas, no charge.
Danny: Aww, you’re so sentimental.
Ethan: Have fun.
Lisa: Where are we heading next?
Addison: If we’re staying true to family traditions, it’s time to get a tree so we can decorate it!
Danny: To the Christmas Tree forest!
Addison: Or at least the closest to a forest we can get!
Part 5
Addison: Let’s get a Christmas Tree!
You, Lisa, and Addison step into the Christmas tree farm, which is filled with festive displays and decorations... and immediately someone shoves into you from behind!
Bianca: Oops!
You stumble but manage to stay upright.
Addison: Good reflexes, Danny!
Lisa: Bianca, you need to watch where you’re going!
Bianca: Listen up, Fish Face. You never tell me what to do.
Lance Sergio: Yeah. Don’t forget that someone here is still on probation.
Jenni: And that means that Danny had better toe the freaking line. Just one call to Thomas Hunt and your whole little crew will get dragged in front of the University Board Committee.
Addison: Can’t you at least be a decent human being one time out of the whole year? It’s Christmas.
Bianca: Christmas? Christmas is just an excuse for people to spend a lot of money and go crazy with lame greeting cards.
Danny: Then what are you doing at a Christmas tree farm?
Shae: Every year Bianca’s dad throws a huge party, and he always sends us out to get a huge tree. And from the look of it, there aren’t many left here.
Jenni: Yeah, so stay out of our way!
Lisa: You wish! We’re going to get the best tree here!
Lisa runs past Bianca’s entourage! You and Addison follow her!
Addison: Quick, it looks like there are only a few trees left... but I see a big one behind that fake setup for Santa’s Workshop!
Lisa: Shortcut! Let’s run through it!
The three of you race into the Santa’s Workshop display, dodging around kids and workers in elf costumes.
Addison: Bianca and her entourage are right behind us!
Lisa: I have an idea... let’s get the kids to mob them! Hey, kids! Um...
Danny: Those four people behind us? They’re carrying candy!
The kids swarm Bianca and her friends, screaming for candy!
Bianca: Get away from me, you little monsters! I don’t have any candy!
Shae: Eww they’re sticky.
You, Lisa, and Addison dash out of Santa’s Workshop and head straight for the tree! You reach it just before Bianca.
Danny: It’s ours! Back off, Bianca.
Bianca: It isn’t over until money changes hands. Hey! Someone! I wanna buy a tree over here!
Diego: Hello, welcome to Santa’s Christmas Tree Farm and... oh, hey guys! Good to see some familiar faces around here.
Bianca: Yeah, great. I want to buy this tree.
Lisa: No, we want to buy this tree. We were here first!
Bianca: No, we got here first.
Danny: Ethan trusts me. That means you can too!
Diego: Oh, that’s right... Ethan is always hanging out with you guys. Ethan is a solid dude. Sorry, Bianca. The tree is theirs.
Bianca: You have got to be kidding me.
Jenni: Oh, this is going straight to Yelp. One star. Would not shop again.
Lance Sergio: Let’s get out of here. I’m sure we can buy a fake tree somewhere else.
Addison: Thank you, Diego! You’re the best!
Diego: You guys have a happy holiday.
Back at Lisa’s house, the three of your decorate the tree...
Lisa: Our tree is awesome!
Danny: Best tree in town!
Addison: I can’t believe we beat out Bianca and her entourage. Lisa, do you want to hang the star at the top?
Lisa: Is that like, a thing?
Addison: Yeah, kind of. Or it is for my family, anyway. It’s really special to get to put he star on the top!
Lisa: Our maid usually does that. I guess my mom and I don’t really celebrate Christmas the same way your family does.
Addison: Every family is different. Danny, do you have a holiday you celebrate?
Danny: I celebrate any holiday that gives me presents.
Lisa: Heh. Sounds like my kind of philosophy.
You, Addison, and Lisa lace garlands and hang up ornaments until at last...
Addison: There, the tree is officially trimmed!
Rewards
The three of you step back and admire the end result.
Lisa: Okay, I’ll admit it. I get what this whole tree thing is going for. It’s actually kinda cool.
Danny: High praise from Lisa.
Just then, Addison’s phone buzzes.
Addison: ...oh no.
Danny: Addison, something wrong?
Part 6
Danny: Addison what’s wrong?
Addison: I just got a text from my mom... she... she can’t come. She and my dad are staying there.
Danny: Oh no! I’m so sorry, Addison.
Addison: I should’ve just gone home. I’ll never be able to get a ticket now. I should’ve... thought of this.
Lisa: Oh, boo hoo. I’m stuck here by myself too. Let’s not get all weepy over it.
Addison: I... I...I need a minute.
Addison leaves the living room and goes into the kitchen.
Lisa: Uh, okay... what was that all about?
Danny: Addison’s mom is sick... I’m not really sure on all the details, but I know it’s pretty bad. This could be her last Christmas.
Lisa: Oh. Yikes. Well, now I guess I’m a jerk. Addison! Come back! Please?
Time - 8 hours
You and Lisa run into the kitchen where you find Addison with tears in her eyes as she uses her phone to search for flights.
Addison: All the flights are totally booked. This is hopeless. I can’t believe I was over here having fun when I should’ve been traveling home...
Danny: Addison... you were trying to plan out a really nice Christmas for your mom...
Addison: Yeah, but now I’m here, and I won’t get to see her.
Lisa: Addi... I’m really sorry about what I said earlier. I didn’t know about your mom. And I think I’ve got an idea about how to make it up to you! I just need some time...
Rewards
Lisa: Okay, it’s all set up! Get in my town car, now!
Addison: But where are we even going?
Lisa: Somewhere that will cheer you up.
Part 7
Lisa: Get into the town car, Addison. I’ve got something that will cheer you up.
You, Lisa, and Addison pile into the town car. Lisa whispers directions to the driver, and he speeds off.
Addison: Lisa... I really appreciate you doing this, but I think I just need to be alone right now.
Lisa: Trust me.
Addison: I trust you, but... I’m not going to be great company right now. I need to process this. I don’t think I can handle trying to do something fun.
Lisa: Are you sure about that?
Addison: Pretty sure.
Lisa: Well, before you have me turn this car around, take a look out the window...
Time - 12 hours
Addison: LAX airport? But... all the flights are sold out. Why are we here?
Lisa: You know what flight isn’t sold out? My private jet. And the pilot has already charted a course just for you, Addi.
Addison: Lisa... you’d do that for me?
Lisa: What are friends for? Merry Christmas, Addi.
You and Lisa hug Addison and she tearfully boards the plane.
Addison: Thank you, Lisa... this is the best present anyone’s ever given me!
Lisa: Oh, just get out of here.

Danny: So what do we do now?
Lisa: We have Christmas together!
That night, you and Lisa eat the holiday cookies that Addison left and sit beside the Christmas tree, admiring the lights.
Lisa: So it’s not a blasting party in the penthouse suite of a resort in Cabo San Lucas... But it’s still nice.
Danny: Maybe because you also got to help a friend in need?
Lisa: Hmmm yeah, I guess that could be part of it.
Happy holidays from all of us at Hollywood U! We hope you enjoyed this special festivities-filled quest!

- Addison

Lisa: Okay, it’s all set up! Get in my town car, now!
Addison: But where are we even going?
Lisa: Somewhere that will cheer you up.
Part 7
Lisa: Get into the town car, Addison. I’ve got something that will cheer you up.
- Danny
- Addison
